It is amazing the important role a father plays in formulating a child’s worldview. As a child my dad, Robert L. Wood Sr., was everything I wanted to be. I looked up to him and admired his every move. As I got older I understood that as the father of nine children growing up in the same household  my dad had an awesome responsibility to provide financially, morally, and emotionally for all nine of us kids and all eleven of us in total including our mom. I still remember going to the hospital and my dad carrying me as a child and buying me ice cream when I left to make me feel better. That memory, the memory of doing push-ups with him while we watched Superman, and many other memories will never leave me. To all dads. Your sons and daughters are watching. Whether or not you choose to be you are role models. That’s so important to your kids and it will affect the way they see the world for the rest of their lives. Your words and actions mean more than you can ever imagine to your children and even to their children. The privilege and joy of fatherhood makes you much more special than you can ever imagine. Happy fathers day to you all. Keep up the good work!!
