Enabling Reinvention

Our Solution: Education

Providing correctional education can be cost-effective when it comes to reducing recidivism.

According to a 2014 RAND study on the effectiveness of correctional education, those who receive correctional education are 43% less likely to return to prison than those who do not receive correctional education.

Those who receive correctional education are also 13% more likely to receive employment post-release than their peers who did not receive education.

Analysis by the Washington State Institute for Public Policy shows that every dollar invested in correctional education returns $18.36 to society in reduced policing costs, victim costs, criminal justice systems costs, and future prison construction and incarceration costs.
